Anyone know much about these got a Ritchey stamp on dropout and stickers
i was aware it wasnt a ritchey hand built jobby but thanks for the extra info : )Ritchey partnered with Tange on the production of tubing to his specifications. I believe its Prestige based. Hence the Ritchey logic branding. It was used by many manufacturers other than Ritchey / Ritchey contractors. He also designed / had produced his own dropouts. Hence the Ritchey stamp. Just like other major manufacturers of dropouts they were used by other manufacturers/brands.
It doesn't mean you own a Richey frame.
Thanks dude great info, yeh its in pretty good condition for its age, yeh i thought Nitanium was a usual dubious mtb marketing term ahahaIt's a 1998 RockHopper (base model) and in excellent condition to judge by the photos. It cost £399.99 back in the day: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery...atalogue+1998/20111118154019942_0002.jpg.html If you Google 'Nitanium', you will find discussions about what, if anything, made it different from ordinary cro-mo. (Spoiler alert: not a lot.) However, they are nice, supple frames to ride. I'm currently using my one for day-to-day getting around duties and it's a very practical, comfortable, pleasant bike.
