Based on my daily commute of 12 miles I can only arrive at this conclusion. Interestingly, whilst it’s dark everyone on two wheels gives a nod, wave or a sometimes continental leg out salute. Is it a sense of commaraderHowever, when the day gently warms climbing north on the thermometer, my hi-viz jacket suddenly takes on the attributes of a cloak of invisibility

I commute each day. I go past the same people everyday and have done countless times. Some acknowledge you and others don't.

Whenever I ride toward another rider, I keep checking to see whether I catch eyes, if so they usually wave or nod back.

Anyway, yes, if you're wearing commuter gear you're seen as a less superior species, at least that's what I experience when commuting early on the weekends!
