Smoke and dart originals vs reissue

The reissues have a black stripe on side wall partially. The part of the sidewall that will press against the rim:

And the decal says "classic" of course.

This is what it _should_ look like:

Its not a big deal, if you use black ano rims. But if you use them on silver rimes, it makes a difference, als the black line above the rim really pops.
I like the looks of it. But if you are a nut on originality... ;)

Thanks for the info mate.

I've got some reissue versions I've just purchased and they are slightly different to the other pair I have on my mbuk zaskar which confused me a bit. However they both appear to be reissue from the info you provided.

Cheers

Re:

if your taking the bike to a show then I would say they look good but the rubber seems to be a bit on the hard side,
I prefer the originality of the old ones and the rubber is softer

I think the ones that they used for the mbuk zaskar were a special order for the bike, like some of the hope bits, back before they decided to reissue the skinwalls.

going totally OT, you'd be the 3rd (or more) owner? and the original frame broke and got warrantee'd I think

Yes all the hope bits were a special order on it. That would explain the tyre differences. They are only slight but still made me wonder.

Yes I'm the third owner having owned it since 2010. Magazine winner hung it on the his wall , second owner broke it near the seat collar and GT provided a replacement frame.
