Smashing Pumpkins

One of the best gigs I ever went to was The Smashing Pumpkins at Manchester Academy in 1993, about two weeks after they'd released Siamese Dream.

The best gig I never went to was Nirvana in 1994 when the tour was cancelled for obvious reasons.

i loved sp's since i heard disarm in about 91/92 but first time i hear m.a.i.s i was abit under whelmed to say the least (other than zero which blew me a way and still does 15 years on), but every other listen since then has just got better and better.

i probably wont listen to the new stuff though. a few 90's grunge bands have tried to come back, and their new stuff doesn't have the same effect on me.

hmm notice any similarities.....

Some absolutely amazing songs in an ocean of so-so noise IMHO.

Mellon Collie should have been a single album for it to be a classic. Way too much filler.

yeah new stuff never seems as good as it did bitd, but it isnt to bad not hair stands up on the back of your kneck stuff but alright would sound better if he had Darcy and James on it

Saw them in '96, was totally underwhelmed. lots of my friends were big fans and didn't get to see them, I used to rub it in so bad "Yep i saw them, they were crap...".

But i'm mean.
