Have decided to stop faffing about and build up a bike that is what I lusted after in 1997/98 when I first got back into MTB'ing. Back then I ended up with a GT Timberline that was too big for me because it was all I could afford and they were selling them off cheap at the local GT dealer...it got nicked anyway!
What I lusted after and pored over in the mags, comparing reviews and specs at the time, was a high end steel Kona or a GT Zaskar (yes, I know...) I also took a fancy at the time to a Scott but can't remember which model it was. Others from the period considered, like a Specialized.
So, what I'm looking for is a small (max. 15" centre BB to where top tube/seat tube meet) hard tail frame from '97/'98, if it will take my Indy SL's so much the better. Don't mind tatty and scabby as I want to pretend I've owned it for years but obviously price has to be in relation to condition!
