Small cheap camera or decent mobile phone?

I want to take more decent pics when i'm out and about, but don't want to lug my SLR about with me everywhere.
So do I buy a small cheap digital camera(any recommendations)? or get a better mobile with a decent camera in it?

I use my phone, Nokia E71 3.2mp camera for photo's, Nokia sports tracker built in, and a good mp3 player for some tunes on the way round.

i use my nokia 5230 only 2mp but good enough for viewing pics on a lappie

the lenses on camera phones are rubbish no matter what way you look at it. and they always get furred up with dust and gunk from use and your pocket.

Should be able to pick up an 8mp compact camera for not much these days..

They are so common, one of my kids found one in the street!!

The phone cams are 'ok' (my x10 has, I think, 8mp) but pretty useless for anything more than a static subject presented in good light.

both are quite slimline both take good pics dont own either but have used them as family members had them.

Fuji sell refurbished cameras cheap, there is a 10 megapixel for under £40.
Lots of cameras to choose from too.
