Thanks all. That fuji site is great. If they come back into stock i'll have an A860 for £30  :D

Its always worth keeping a look out, they have buy one, get one half price sales on from time to time. I got two 10 megapixel cameras for under £65 posted earlier this year.

megapixels don't mean jack if the sensor is rubbish ;)

mine come out quite well
8mp hd. i dont find it that hard to take good pics and theyre always detailed
doubt phone cam pics would compare to slr though
some nokias have carl zeiss lens

I'll stretch your definition of cheap and include good value  I got one of these at the start of the year and for outdoors stuff its fantastic, shock proof, i.e. take some knocks, waterproof to 10 ft or summat and dust/sand proof. Easy to use and fit in a pocket a great choice for when you can't be bothered taking the big camera. I started a thread and someone commented on how they'd broke 3 cheap compacts through dropping and abuse, this should take the punishment. I think I got it for £200 so I'd imagine with the new model out you'd get one for a bit cheaper again.

Well I really pushed the boat out in the end :D
Hitachi HDC891E 8mp, a whopping £13.50 to the door :D
If it proves to be crap, which I doubt, it will make a nice paper weight

It's not the sensors or lenses on phones that make the cameras on phones crap it's the processors, they have too much else to do being a phone and are just not fast enough to handle decent software.
They will get better though with the advent of dual core in smartphones in the coming generation they will make good point and click devices.
Until then a £30 refurb fuji will be better.

Carl.
