Small British Eagle Touristique - Brum

Thankfully too small for me, and for some reason I am inundated with British Eagles atm, I have 4. They have made some really nice bikes over the years though, another one of those makers that slips under the radar. I guess they subsequently became just a name that may have been attached to some later BSOs.

The Touristique seems to have got and held a rep in touring circles. I have the Coventry Eagle version....I can't really say anything nice about the rest of the Coventry Eagle range at the time. Some competent 531 bikes and then some lower spec bikes that are unexceptional. Possibly the least cool British bike brand, less cool than Falcon or Claud Butler perhaps.

The Touristique is an anomaly. Steepish angles for a tourer, nice fork rake, great tubing selection. They just seem to go really well laded or unladen. I am kind of in love with mine.

Never had a Coventry Eagle, but my BE Kinetic with full tricolour groupset is a lovely bike and the BE ATB I bought a month ago with Deore LX groupset is a really lovely ride and has become my daily rider.
