To go with my new tent.

Use likely late summer, autumn, maybe a bit later.
This is the one I fancy the look of.

Alpkit pipedream 400. -4c is a good comfort level, not too warm for summer left open, but not too cold should the temp drop overnight, and given this is Scotland, thats not unusual, might even snow too

Anyone used this one ?. I've an old Vango ultralite 1300m, rated 4 season to -10c I used to use along with a 2nd bag thats totally had it so the new one is to replace that.
Also the pack size is important, and this seems a good small size compressed. Again any1 any experience of this. The other alpkit down bags even compressed are larger.

It's well regarded in the Bikepacking community, commonly recommended. Snugpak would be the other maker I would suggest you have a look at.

got a superlight down one but tend to go with my snugpak as it has an expander panel and goes a bit duvet

I had a look but couldnt find anything that gave a 3 season, to a couple below, ideal for Scotland, that wrapped up tight, this has to be bike carried.
I'll take another look, open up some comparison windows. I'm on my 2nd filo jacket, so im happy with Alpkit quality wise and their kit seems to be designed to be ideal around Scotland.
My new tent is snugpak - Best for cost/length/weight when you're 6'3"

Is that the Elite range ?. I looked at the softie elite 5(I think) for winter car camping with my camping buddy, but he passed 2 years back, so It's more lightweight or small packable size now. I think that one was the top of their UK cold list. Favoured a lot by the military guys

Chewers I'll take a look.

Got some Alpkit kit but for down bags & clothing I find PHD the best. Made in UK.
Been using it for last 10 years & various other high end brands for 30 years prior. My bags rated to -5 but opens like a quilt for summer & I have down socks, trews & smock for winter campwear & to take bag to around -20 if needed. Peter Hutchinson (the PH of PHD) was the man behind the original Mountain Equipment

PHD are unfortunately outside my price range :( Limited to 200, maybe a bit more.
As its bike packing, and pretty much the autumn/spring months, its main thing it to roll up small, and be ok in Scotland those seasons. but less rom the better.

Got an old windstoper balaclava of the old mountain equipment. So stretched now its like a medievil cowl, but in wionter, the wind off the ears is great. And sleeping in :D

Ever hear of a company called 'Lode stone' I'd an ultralight bag of theirs, packed down to the size of a bag of sugar. Company long shut down, and all i have is the stuff sack, but it was a great bag and pack size was great for just having with you pottering about.

It will probably be the pipedream 400, due to its small packable size, and the Hydrophobic down is i reckon a good cross between worry about wet down, and not worry about synthetic. I've a 4 season synthetic, but its to big for the bike.
I was thinking a small pack size down of reasonable temps, and my alpkit filo down jacket, that also packs really small as way of the extra boost should it get cold

Very nice, and pretty competitively priced too. They certainly appear to have the right attitude, but thats what they all say
I'll add it to the list, but im thinking alpkit basically as its UK and currently thats going to be important.
Maybe not the best, but I think the UK brand would be best, given current situation for firms.
