Simplex /Mavic downtube shifters - dark grey anodising

I have a couple of pairs of these Simplex shifters, but one pair do not say Simplex on the front, and are anodised a dark grey.

I've never seen any more - does anyone know what they are (Mavic, Simplex, model)?

Thanks, but no. They aren't black, rather a 'gunmetal'. They are definitely made by Simplex, but don't know who for.

Could they be Mavic SSC anodised team issue? Mavic did anodised grey chainrings but I’ve never seen matching shifters.

Levers were always silver for Mavic whether SSC or not and the SSC colour is more of a dark bronze.

They were sometimes light grey on Peugeots in the 80s, but I've not seen them anodized like that.

Someone could have just custom anodized them…

Doesn’t look like an aftermarket job, but I can’t be sure. I think they made them for someone else (like they did for Mavic), as Simplex is not written on them, and the colour doesn’t match anything known.
