No idea i stopped caring, but i care again. IIRC my old GT back in teh day was 32lbs which was a bit heavy for a skinny 14y.o.
My Orange was a fair bit less so Hoping my Fox build will be under 30 at least. my moderns weigh more, i know that much!

My rigid King Kahuna SS weighs in at 8.64 kilos. It's all ti bits, no carbon. I imagine if it was geared it would be around 10 or just over. My Score is geared and has a Fox fork, and it's 10.8 kilos or something.

I'm in agreement with strength over weight, by the way. I like a strong bike I can feel safe riding. I like to punish the bike, and not have it punish me! :shock:

10-11 kilos is still a lightweight hardtail, even these days.

I was expecting to get my Dave Yates below 10, but the Maguras put paid to that....

I spotted a full carbon road race bike [professional build]on a web-site the other day,the 'entire' thing weigh's 7lb's 7pounds complete, bloody hell ,not just frame +forks -everything ,didnt notice a price on it though,
prob about 20 grand
