'tis helpful to remember - Frame starts A602 so maybe 1996 ? dates at my age are all a blur final 3 digits are 253

Aye. Decals fit that date. Last of the cantilever stop frames.

A602 is a Feb 96 frame. Looks like a mix of 737 and 739 kit.

Which would be correct for 1996 as it was a blended year.
739 naming came with the new V-Brake lever, caliper and Top-Swing front mech.
The rest was still good old 737.

So as you say a mix, not pure 737.
