Why did I ask


I looked them up - hard to believe they are lighter than a strip of electrical or masking tape, and bloody expensive considering what they are, I'm sure you get them in most ikea furniture packs.

On a road bike TK the pressure of the tube could trash your leccy tape. Maybe less so on a mtb but still a possibility. They are quite ineffective as a butt plug though.

they replace rim tape - one in each spoke hole on the rim. I guess if a wheel has a low number of spokes it would save weight.
