Should there be a law against this? (Chain Reaction)

I bought some tyres from them a while ago and they turned up in a box, with energy gels.....and an empty jiffy bag!

I'm not sure if Jiffy bags/padded envelopes can be recycled. Cardboard can. Nothing's ever simple :)

There are several "all paper" alternatives to the Jiffy Bag, that use shredded paper fibres instead of bubblewrap.... it all depends on how important these issues are to the company in question I guess

No, it depends how important these issues are to their customers.

We all know that CRC use standard packaging no matter what the size of product, but how many of us refuse to use them because of it?

If more people voted with their custom, rather than buying from CRC and then mouthing off on the internet, they might take notice.

But then, its raining outside and CRC are 50p cheaper, and they're so convinient!

Not everything worthwhile is decided on "people power" or "customer lobbying"....

Without sounding like I am spoting a load of company bullshit.... thanks soley to the vision and commitment of certain individuals in our organisation, we are the "greenest" company in our industry, and lead our customers towards being more sustainable/green/eco/hairy armpitted or whatever you want to call it, rather than them saying "we need you to be/do/acheive this, and then us shitting ourselves coz we dont know what they are on about

If it was important to the heads at CRC, then the size of boxes wouldnt be being discussed here

A week ago on Sunday I ordered an FSA aheadset cap, bolt and star-nut, plus a aheadset spacer. Got email on Wed saying part of my order had been dispatched, Thurs got another email saying rest of order dispatched.
Friday and both items arrive at same time, the aheadset spacer in a box like in OP with a piece of crumpled paper as packing and the FSA aheadset cap in jiffy bag with 2 saches of gel.

The whole lot could have been sent in the jiffy bag no problem.
So they have both jiffy bags and boxes to send items, why use the box instead of a bag for items as small as the spacer?
No logic to that.

I think actual 'Jiffy' bags are the ones with shredded paper or whatever in them which you have to be careful with when opening as that stuff gets everywhere!

The past couple packages i have had have been in bubble wrap envelopes.

I have had a SINGLE brake olive in one of those boxes.

Not too bothered as i always find a use for the boxes and/or packaging.

So they are cheaper than anyone else, you get free delivery, they throw in some free stuff and the packaging is a good reusable size.

Can't see what the problem is tbh
