Should I trust the information on Bikepedia?

Surely the BB axle needs to fit the crankset, not the frame? Provided the 68mm bit is right, the 107mm bit is to suit whatever cranks the Bikepedia spec assumed.

I'm pretty sure that Bikepedia picks up its info from manufacturers, so i'd be surprised if it's often wrong.

yeah, spindle length is crank specific, not frame specific. m900 "need" 108-113mm but will work on some frames with somewhat shorter spindles on cost of the perfect chain line. M737 are fine with 106mm spindles and i am sure a few other cranks too.

do you trust wikipedia???

Then, I would not trust bikepedia.

The first question being rhetorical, since wikipedia can be highly suspect at times...well most of the time :P

I'd agree,Ive seen M900 cranks on a Zaskar running with a 107mm axle length (to my surprise)

Kudos...I have four Zaskar/LE's in house right now w/XTR M900 cranks and either GT ti or Shimano 107 BB's in them.

M900 need 107 or 113 lengths (mainly since that is the length they made the Bottom bracket for it ;) but anything in between would be fine I guess)
107 is the 'correct one' with regard to prefered chain line.

Not sure of later on when the rest of the groups (XT / LX) went low profile if they needed the 107 length.
Of course at the time 107 also gave the prefered "Q" factor and is a touch lighter than the 113
