Super tough call :? You've already got the polished LTS but you've also got the orange fade clockwork :? Soooo I'll go for polished frame with white forks and custom orange/white fade decals. Some white bars and a white saddle 8)

I know of a guy [here in Glasgow ]had ,many years ago,a titanium frame built around his body measurements for a perfect if not extremely expensive Fit
He then proceeded to cover the whole bike in sequins ,you know the little discs that the girlies put on their dresses, gold blue green etc on every inch of the frame
unusual to say the least
Could be just your cup of tea   As apposed to the normal paint or not option

Been inspired by Boy "O" Boy's orange and white Aluminium "O",
was thinking of painting my E3 the same.

Cheers fella 8) ..... look what clockworkdavo has started now!

I agree with many others here... it's a tough call but it's your ride after all.
If you are going down the orange/white fade route bear in mind that...

1. The orange is nearer to red that orange. 1st attempt in Focus ST orange was so bright it could have been used on a Dynarod van.

2. That fade is really difficult to reproduce without a very small paint gun or an airbrush. Rattle cans seem to produce an area of 'splatter' rather than a seamless fade.

3. Paint the orange first. Add the white fade next. Fade the orange back to the white with an Airbrush. Fine scotchbrite before the Laquer coats.

4. Patience is a virtue. Mine took 3 attempts before it was 'right'.

5. It still chips bad. 1st outing last weekend.... chainsuck left a 5p size chip behind the chainset...... Patina :D

Personally, I think it's pretty hot in the polished finish. I can see that with a set of Girvin Vectors and some grey Umma gumma's like the E3 team in the 95/96 cataloge.

Whatever you decide though fella, I'm always happy to help where I can. Good luck :D

When the luster of that new paint rubs off you'll wish it was polished alloy again. The grass is always greener and all that, i'd stick with the polished look and spend the cash on some quality custom decals instead.

crikey, thats exactly what I was thinking when reading it!

Originaly bought the E3 as a replacement for the Clockwork but i'll probably hang on to the Clockwork now even if i do strip it.

Cheer's for the input guys , going to leave it as it is for now, especially when i think it took me about eight hours of elbow grease to get the frame this shiney.

May still see an orange and white fade E3 in readers bikes in the future though
