short cranks + petite people

They are as wide as M730 so work fine - they gave several years service before outgrown. They are now on a disability-adapted tandem.

However, off the shelf Spa cranks are much cheaper if you want something normal. The finish is very good and they run true.

Certainly for the Mrs, 160-165 spa off the shelf is a result, but thinking about the little one, sorry daughter, maybe give it a go myself, friends in the landy world have probably got all the kit we'd need with the exception of a jig to hold it while on pillar drill and taps.

I've got a stack of taps from rebuilding engines etc, and thinking I was bound to have the right size taps but pedals I think are 20 tpi while unf is 18 and of course you need a left hand thread  and its 1/2" not 9/16" for kids pedals if that's what people used ? although I'd probably go for 9/16" given the choice of pedals in the spares box. Of course, before I do all that I'd need a big shed.......but its good to at least think through the challenge, and see if anyone up to a challenge on the next landy / camping event as we sit round the fire enjoying a beer and talking nonsense.

As I said, I used '95 LX cranks off an old stumpy.

I measured them last night where I tapped'em, 24mm. My son will never weigh over 70# while fitting this bike, so that's no worry.

Pedal taps are very specific. I have a good relationship with my LBS and was able to borrow their set for a night. Make them standard pedal (9/16x20), so you can use the whole gamut of offerings available.
