SHIPMENT TIMES

What is your longest waiting period?

Most bits and pieces (large & small) I get from around the globe are with me within the week, except anything from Canada.

I had a set of forks turn up over six months after they were sent, and a skewer take 3 months...

Bought some skewers from USA last OCTOBER..

Got them through this morning

PARCELFORCE are complete jizzrags

hey Joe, it was November  . Glad they made ok this time via FedEx. Those are some well traveled skewers!

Hey Shaun,

They are simply awesome and well worth the :D wait

I will steer well clear of the UK's PARCELFORCE in the future

I had some serious talks with them over our missing parcel

I post quite a few packages between the Isle of Man and Platsa (in very rural Greece) and in either direction it usually takes 4 or 5 days.

Typically I can post a parcel in our local village PO (on the IOM) and track it (via Coventry) to the Athens sorting office within 24hrs, which I think is pretty damn good :)
The only time I've ever had anything go missing was a camera which I sent to Italy, and that disappeared from sight for about 4 months but did get delivered in the end. Isle of Man Post (on my behalf) sent a written search request to Italy which resulted in it being found languishing in a sorting depot in Turin.

So maybe I've just been lucky, but I personally find the normal postal system hard to beat (and good value for money too).

It is until it goes wrong, recently sent a bike part to a member of this forum in Portugal, the packaged arrived opened and empty. The part was not worth much but it will be very hard to find a replacement.

This forum has only one portuguese member...

I made a complain, but to make it official, i need to give them both full adresses, proof of payment, some mails that buyer and seller sent during negociation, and pics of the lost object.

It´s silly, a huge lack of efficiency, and will make me spend another year looking for that part.

Chris (Rekiborter) is a true gentleman, and is helping more than he had to.

Back to topic...

I´ve sent lots of parts from PRT to UK, and sometimes they take 5 days, other times they take (some are still on the way now) 1 month. Fortunatly, none was ever lost... i think!

We don´t usually get the postal service we payed for (wether we are the buyer or the seller)... it´s a game of patience...

Six months of chew trying to get a pair of Look Fournales linkage forks from Goringchem in Holland is my record. The first two pairs went missing and only the good will of the bike shop and owner Pete meant a third pair were sent and eventually delivered. Ironically the courier put a card through to say he'd stashed them behind the wheeliebin! Also rates as the worst ebay buy probably due to the build up I was totally underwhelmed and returned them to the bay three months later (just hope Pete wasn't watching!)
