I have a '90 Basso XC frame with italian thread. Now I want to equip it with a „modern“ Deore M590 or similar XT crankset. As Shimano doesn't offer mountain cups for italian threads :roll: I thought about using road cups. To get the right chainline it may also be necessary to leave out the spacers (the road cups seem to be narrower anyway). Does this work? Thanks for your help.
