I consider it as a kind of silencer to reduce the annoying chainrub that comes with 2×11. That's my theory anyway. I could be wrong but I don't think Shimano will either confirm or deny.

thanks. Performance bike is like Wiggle, but has been around since the late 80's, in the Southern US.

my training partner, worked for them when they opened when he was going to med school.

Serotta built a batch of slx frames for them around 89' to 90'. this being one of them.

how my friend and i met is another story of provenance. he raced pro for ten speed drive and coca cola. raced the calender, core states etc. and against 7-11 etc. he's 6'3" and 66 and takes a lot of the strava kom's. up here in northern new england. he was born in the uk.
