The range names mean nothing whatsoever - but the point is that they mean
nothing BAD in
all languages.
If you consider that Shimano are global, selling the same stuff into all global markets, they need to find names that do not mean anything negative or offensive in any language. It wouldn't be any good to launch a new groupset only to find that the name they chose meant 'horse shit' or 'anal prolapse' in say, Portugese.
Big global companies spend huge sums of money with branding specialists to come up with unique names that are neutral. Beige, if you will.
