Shim or not to shim: 26.8 to 27.2?

bars have been shimmed for decades so I would'nt even think twice about it plus the actual clamping area is only a few mill anyway. Most frames are not 0.0mm perfect so it normally just the clamp area that keeps them in place. A shim would probably improve on that by deforming slighty to offer a better fit.

Just sayin' like...

If you can get hold of some shim stock from any machinist supply store or general millwrighting buddies you will be set. They come is sheets 12"x12" in any thickness possible. You can use a nice long section all the way down the post. No movement anywhere.
If you have to you can order it from Mcmaster carr but its kinda pricey.

Also I just checked Amazon, they sell it too. and cheap :)
