Selling stuff to survive

I've had to do this for years -

holiday? sold a bike

car repairs? sold a bike

new camera? sold a bike

Am thinking about a new bike to ruin whilst commuting rather than wear out a decent retrobike, may sell an old bike.

Will also be doing a car-boot sale Sunday to pay for a few treats. Oh and paypal, if its empty, I buy nothing!

Car insurance- Up.
Food- Up.
Card/loan apr- Up.
Other boring living stuff- Up.

Wage- Down in real terms. No pay rise for a few years and none for the next few. At least I've still got a job though.

Got my car insurance renewal through yesterday. Surprised it didn't damage the floorboards when it landed. Just a slight increase! :shock:

i seem to hoard :?
some parts/bikes will never get sold, especially as its taken me so long to build them

but then i often dont really collect bits i dont want

and besides, i have a connection to my bike(s) and as such they are worth more to me than anyone else, hence the dissapointment when coming to sale and not reaching what you value them at

I think everyone is feeling it, one way or another.

Haven't really noticed if people are selling up shiny things, maybe Marin Man would know.

And, I find, bikes can be bought cheaply (if you know where to look ) and often sold at a profit to help things out.

The same principle could be used for most things, not just bikes.

Apart from my bikes I haven't got much to sell really.

Have thought abotu selling a bike or two but for what I'd get for them it wouldn't be worth it and I'd only regret it.
