Oh good Lord, have you (or anyone) read the original thread?

Nowhere, can I see anyone questioning Barneys pricing or ethics.

I did indeed.

I think the fact that they were for sale for just £85 a couple of weeks ago might be a minor stumbling block.

poorly matched rim / hub set, plus a radially laced old hope hub is a bad idea in terms of future cracks!

I think that covers the points I made about negative comments, ethics/pricing.

Well done for quoting out of context.

I'm out now.

Lesson for me? When someone asks why something isn't selling, ignore them.

Why can't we all just get along?

al. :(

If anyone needs a hug, just ask and I'll be there! :D

Some people on this forum seem to have the mentality that they're somehow being ripped off if a seller adds a little bit of value to something.... Kind of "well, you only paid £50 for it so why are you selling it for £80", when the item they're referring to is a set of forks which would usually sell for £100, for example... They negate the fact that they could potentially save themselves £20 and concentrate on the fact that the seller is making a bit of a profit as if it's the crime of the century.

I should mention that Russell's original comment on my for sale thread was misunderstood by me, and is something I apologised for later on in the thread if you read it through.

I wasn't being 'impatient' when the wheels didn't sell, I just thought that someone would have snapped them up. However I now know that there are quite a few forum members who, no matter how honest or open a seller is about the item(s) they're selling, get their a**es in a sling over the fact that a bit of money was made (in my case, less than a fiver)...

I'd love it if all forum members could get along, and if people just looked at the CURRENT sale price of something rather than how much it may or may not have been bought for previously, and making snide comments about it.

Always good to have the same discussion for the 1000th time.

Sell the wheels for what you want and have courage in your convictions would be my suggestion to you Barney Ballbags. Might also be worth realising not everybody is going to buy into your thought process - I certainly don't.

If you're getting PMs like this best inform myself or a moderator.

I've actually just bought another bike which I'm going to split and sell. It has a lot of bits on it which I know would sell very quickly on here (Cooks, Syncros Ti etc.), but I might just go and sell them elsewhere if people's attitudes are going to be like this.

Retrobike's undoubted loss will be the wider world's gain.

It seems that honest sellers get a harder time of things sometimes...

Quite.
