Hi all,
I’m new to the vintage BMX scene and could use a bit of advice. I recently picked up two old Raleigh BMX bikes from a garage clearance and I’m not sure what to do with them.
The first one is a Raleigh Ultra Burner Mk1 with gold trim. It looks mostly original—black frame, gold bits, mag wheels—but it’s been sitting for years and definitely needs some TLC. The second is a Raleigh Renegade with a white frame and black mags. Also looks complete, just a bit rough around the edges.
I’ve been wondering whether it’s worth trying to fix them up properly or just sell them as-is and let someone more experienced take them on. I don’t really have the tools or know-how to do a full restoration, and I’m leaning toward selling them now. I figure someone who knows what they’re doing might prefer to get them untouched and do it their own way.
Would love to hear what you think—especially if anyone’s had experience selling these kinds of bikes in original condition. Cheers!
