Select between Suntour MG80 or XCR

Hello,

I'm thinking around this two forks, both new and with similar specs:

- Suntour XC80: coil + elastometers blocks, around 3 inch of travel, weight 4 lbs, only rebound ajust, v-brake+disc.
- Suntour XCR: Coil + elastometer inside, around 3 inch of travel, weight around 5,5 lbs, only rebound adjust, v-brake+disc.

I don't like too much the XC80 because the bridge between the bottles are too width-plane and in the XCR is more stylized, but its weight is too low compared with the other.

I don't know what of both forks have better strength, I think that the XCR, but I ask here because probably someone has tried one of them.

I was looking too for best last, probably the XC80 will have a better long live?.

Can someone give a bit more light between this two forks?

Errr... I'm pretty sure neither of those forks are very retro.
I have had the XCR before, and wasn't impressed... It didn't last very long, and that was on a commuter bike. I can't comment on the MG80.

What bike are these for?

The MG ones are nearly retro or closely descended from late 90's ones but the XCR are new style.
Fit what you like but the MG80's would be less out of place on an old bike.
I had some circa 1999 MG90's which were a very nice elastomer/spring 3" travel fork, quite plush travel and felt well built. They looked just like the MG80's you have pictured but were egg yolk yellow in colour.

How about fitting some Rock Shox Indy forks from around that period? Or some Marzocchi forks of similar age?
Do you plan on using disc brakes?

I like this forks because are veary easy to mantain, and last, and last. Only have inside a coil spring with elastometers...

The hubs of my wheels don't have disc mount, I need v-brakes.
