See you in Scotland

Scotlandshire may not have motorways, but I believe it now has electrickery and running water. Alcohol is in plentiful supply though, just in case the water isn't safe to drink

And dont go on the moors at night. Thaire not safe.
(especially for Americans in red puffer jackets).

I see. You guys respect Scotland about as much as Californians respect the parts of California where we don't live.

But now and then we still have to go there.

Born and bred up here, love it, there are no motorways north of Glasgow - Perth.

The road to Fort William may be dualled for a short section but it will mostly be 60mph limit country road [1 lane each way no central barriers] if the weather is clear the trip passes through some lovely countryside.

A short detour off the path  will take you through the stunning Glencoe to Rannoch Moor - 50 miles of desolate moorland with a solitary pub at one end.

I'm pretty sure the werewolf murders happenened in Yorkshire but I have moved about since then. :D

I was told that I might have a problem getting my passport renewed in time, but other than costing more, speed is not a problem.

Still debating whether to try driving all the way from London. It seems like a lot to ask of Dave (GradeAfailure) to do that much in my behalf.

If I should find a connecting flight for Glasgow and hire a car from there, I would be looking for a local for company and to keep other drivers safe from me.

I expect we'll get proper treatment once we get there. Anyone for Glasgow to Fort William?
