Second car ideal for the summer

The induction kit will give you about 3 horsepower more, if you're lucky
In a back to back test, a new standard paper filter was compared with a 'performance' induction kit (on a mid-highly tuned Cavalier Turbo) and the new paper filter produced more power on the dyno...

That aside, you gotta love a bit of induction roar (oh to be young again)...

Cavalier Turbo...that sounds alarming. My 1.7TD in 1994 was always horribly scrabbly for grip.

Most of the so-called tuning aids are trash. As if some berk in a lock-up with a subcontractor in China can get so much extra out of an engine; while VW spending a billion Euros on development with pros' years of experience can't

The Cav Turbo was a production 4x4 (albeit a fragile 4x4) with 204bhp standard (I think) and almost ten years ago they were being taken to 350bhp.. god only knows what lunacy they're up to now..

Not for me.....

High street tuning, imo, is mostly about looks and sound... which is ok (I used to modify interiors with LED's before everyone jumped on the band wagon).. but real tuning is where it's at....

Sorry for the hikack... still like the Golf... had a Mk2 GTI 8V.... wish we'd kept it...

Problem is, they waste all that money making all normal cars all things to all people. 'Average' performance 'Average' handling and all centred around a desire to be economical...

Sell the plate to a BMW owner for some good cash!

I had this to run around in recently while some work was done on my car. Light car, 130bhp and RWD. Some oversteer fun was had! :D Still prefer my daily car though.

PS: I am definitely a car-nutcase! Have been for a few years now, but it would be nice to get back into biking more. To trim down the beer gut if anything else! :)

Back of the que thank you very much. These would look lovely on my mk2

Seriously jon that's way better than rachel's car. There's not a straight panel on hers.

You definately made a good choice

I miss your texts!

The wheels are cool jon. Don't undersell them if you do let them go. The adapters are worth a lot too- i bought some new ones for the porsche wheels on rachel's car first time sound. Paid 100 quid for the 4. Sold the wheels 6 months later and sold the adapters seperately. They fetched 115!
