Hi folks,

Having recently received a seatpost for my road bike project, I realised it had come without the lower part of the seat clamp. ie, the semi circular part that the saddle rails sit on. I've had a full refund and been told not to send it back.
Having a brainwave - I think - I was thinking of making one out of an offcut of seatpost. Has anyone else tried this?

Top part, present, lower part of clamp, not.

Re:

I think if the diameter of the seat post to be used is the same as the curve where it needs to sit, it should work ok. Probably best with a cheap post with maybe thicker walls, to have some extra material there. Or maybe something else will be compatible if you can't find the correct one - USE seat posts use a similar design
