I have a set of Scott Unishock VR forks, can anyone enlighten me as to their specs, links to online user guides etc?

They have spring & elastomer internals, the elastomers appear to have gone a little hard, and when I compress the forks I get very little travel and they are reluctant to rebound.
I guess new elastomers are in order, but otherwise the forks appear ok.

Another question... is it silicone grease that I need to use on elastomer suspension forks?
I think I may have tracked down some replacement elastomers.

Ok, so I have ordered some suspension bushes for the Austin Healey/Sprite  I think they will be the right diameter and can always be cut down if they are too long, as to how soft or firm they will be... only time will tell, but my instincts say they will be on the firm side.
I will use them to replace the 3 elastomers in each leg of the forks as the existing ones seem to have been compressed almost flat and are now wider than they are long, I guess this is why the forks are slow to compress and won't readily rebound.
There's also a spring in each leg, should I leave it there? or just put a stack of elastomers in there in it's place?

What I really need is a schematic or service manual which shows what should be inside these forks, does anyone else who has these forks know what should be in there?

Hey
Owners manual is scanned in my website:
http://retromtb.pl/pdf/unishock.pdf
It's manual from 92 fork, so it's showing steel spring inside - in Your VR You'll have elastomers in this place (I think there's no spring in VR!)

For elastomer forks You should use some NON-LITHIUM grease! (fex Judy Butter; RST is making something similar, but cheaper)

thanks a lot for that link, my forks say "VR - variable rebound" on a sticker on the outside, and have a stack of 3 elastomers and also a small spring on the inside :?
well, I'll see how these elastomers I ordered work out :D

To make the elastomers softer and easier to compress you can drill holes in them... 8)

Ahhh.... :D top tip MM.

so what lube (if any) do I use on me rubbery bits? I'm sure I've heard talk of silicone grease? I guess they don't make the old Judy butter anymore? or is the Pace RC7 suspension grease the stuff I need?

I dont use any in my manitou.....I only grease the stantion....and if they have a skewer a little on that.....I still have some judy butter...
