Scott frame ID help

Devout Dirtbag
Hey, I just picked up this - advertised as a Scott, no other info, obviously badly resprayed but has the original Scott handle bar. I picked it up only for the 1" Salsa roller stem and M900/mavic231 front wheel but I'm now wondering as to year and model of the frame. Late 80's with U-brake on the chainstays and mountain LX/exage parts - those front brakes which I know I've seen somewhere before but can't place are an odd addition? Montana or Boulder perhaps?? - I see both yellow and red paint under the silver, but its hard to tell if that wasn't a DIY job also

Re:

Leaning towards it being a Montana from 1989 by looking at the seat tube junction and rear drop-outs (not the same as a Boulder) but the paint under that spray bomb silver is throwing me off. I can't find an image of a Scott with paint like that - it does look like factory paint, with a fade on the top tube but that hard transition between red and yellow at the bottom of the down tube. Maybe its not a Scott....

Hard to say from those pics - details aren't visible well...

If that would be a Scott it would be model from '89 (88 frames were very similar but all models I saw had spoke-holder on chainstay, 90 had deffinitly different geo)
Lower end like Teton, Sawtooth or Montana (horizontal dropouts)

Lug near seatpost is similar to late '80 Scotts - that's thruth, but front fork is bent different to Scott's from that era, red/yellow painting with sharp end of colour in that place isn't also similar to Scott... Also cable stops on the lower main tube looks different to late '80 Scotts (but they're not visible well on pics)

For that moment I guess rather not a Scott, but You can drop some pics of details + seatpost dia to confirm...

Re:

Yeah, I figured it wasnt a Boulder - Montana maybe - if its a Scott at all.. the paint underneath really has me wondering. Seatpost is 26.6 and here is a closer look at the junction and cable guides - Scott cable guides were more ball shaped I think..?
