Alas, common problem on these. It was resolved from 99 onwards.

Doubt its cracked. we used to sell these when we were a Scott dealer. some did crack yes but 75% are actually the paint not flexing and cracking. sanded down a few over the years & they where perfectly fine underneath. its worth checking out...
