SBDU Question....

I've finally managed to get my hands on an SBDU frame in 753 - SB7417 (a TT Special)

One question: having just removed the forks, they are stamped with the same frame number, plus the frame size but also another number - 2438. Does anyone know what this number denotes?

I don't have a camera at the moment, so can't upload any pics.

Wild guess. 24tpi threading and 38mm offset?

Sometimes the fork was stamped with the builder ID can't remember if that's a number of initials...
