those wheels would look so much better on my golf

I always prefered the look of the Kadett GT/E. I once owned a mint ex-works one driven by Anders Kullang and Tony Pond. Great cars especially with a Swindon tuned Manta 400 phase two motor up front.

I still would love to build a replica of the South African Opel Kadett 400 one day. I think they only built 4. Steve Magson had one a few years back but I don't know where it is now. Cool looking car based on the mk 1 Astra but with Manta 400 running gear shoehorned in.

I once owned a '69 Opel Kadet Rally 1.9- it was a fun little car and not bad through the twisty bits for a car at that time. I really wanted a Manta though, because of it's sleek shape. Out here in California I saw an ad last year for an Opel GT with a Corvette 350 V8 stuffed in it- it had a big hole in the hood where the high-rise manifold and 4 barrel carb stuck out, complete with a Shaker Air Scoop on top. Looked cool but strange, must've gone like stink in a straight line and then understeered off the outside of the first turn he hit. Baby Corvette indeed!
