Lovely build. Wheels are almost too nice to ride.

Beautifully colour matched to the Curry's sign in the background.

The saddle is a dog though IMHO.

Wolber weren't that well thought of BITD but seem to be quite popular now.

Always liked the ones on my CB and my Rockhopper has Wolbers on that were taken from my Holdsworth.

Another nice piece of Brit metal that has stood the test of time and much better now it has the kit it deserves on it.

I saw the Curry's sign as I was uploading the pictures and though 'bollox' but it was a good pic otherwise, so posted it!

That saddle is staying for sure. Brooks are awesome, looks like it came off a vintage tractor, but it is perfect in use I think the cosmetics work really well, it's a bit different, it's British and it has 'it', it's a saddle worthy of the name - I suspect a fair few more Brooks saddles will appear on here as time goes on

There is a slight weight penalty, when I say slight, I think it is equivalent to two Flites!!!

I do get on alright with flites but not all day

But I'm taking off the Wolbers and the Megabites and stashing them away and fitting some kit that I found in the loft

Wasn't sure I had any black rims, but I do! And they are Mavics with LX hubs (albeit the hubs are differing vintages)

The tyres are coming off another set of wheels, they are WTB Velociraptors which are OK, in decent nick but filthy!

I just can't bring myself to wear out those Ritcheys and cut through that virgin ano on the Wolbers, sad innit?

nope. In my opinion not sad at all. I look at those amazing wheels/tires that truly make this bike even better and think, please keep them that way?

I had a 'NOS' one of these back in 1996 - OK it was only 4 years old back then but for a bike to survive that long without being destroyed through use was a miracle.

Mine was Deore LX through-out except the MT63 levers and DX shifters

Ritchey vantage rims and bars in silver. Ritchey Megabites.

I have the very light OEM Saracen stem available if you want it. Its a quill stem but no cable guide.

Stupid minty wheels

OK so stupid minty condition wheels and tyres mean I'm still at it

LGF's mention of silver wheels made me decide to give that a try

Naturally this was after I spent ages yesterday evening cleaning up the black Mavics, which aren't actually that black, once all the brown commuting crap came off...

Might not even bother trying them

Maybe rebuild the whole thing in silver? nah that'd be silly cos it'd look weird with the original wheels back on
