Santini road frame set

Hello,
I was in Florence the other day and picked up this frame and forks from a local bike shop. Unfortunately I do not know much about it and Google has been of little help as well. The frame set is made by Cinelli with Campagnolo drop outs and internal routing for both brakes and gears. There is a part of the logo the says Campioni d'Italia 1984, not sure if its the year of the bike or just a logo.
Anyone have any info on the bike? The part that is proving to be the hardest to locate is the downtube gear lever boss set up as i have never seen that type before.

Any info will be greatly appreciated!!

The gear lever boss is for a top-mount 'aero' style lever. I think Suntour used to make one to fit this type of boss although it's rather unusual for a Suntour fitting to be found on an Italian frame. Did Campag make one similar?

The frame is likely to be built from Columbus tubing with some Cinelli lugs.

The top mounted aero lever boss looks like a custom item to take the cables internally......

Re:

Indeed they have! I have seen a few campy c record groups with the top mounted levers but none like that one! They beauty of restorations....

Modolo did a limited run of DT levers for the use on early forms of specialist TT bikes that were beginning to appear for pro use in around the early/mid 80's that used either that or very similar mount
