Greetings Retrobike

It has been a little while since I have posted a bike and, since the light was nice today I though I would make some pics

For you consideration I offer my 1991 Santana Moda with full XT M730 kit. The bike is all original and relatively low mile but it does have a little ding in the top tube, This is the later TIG welded version with Columbus Max OR tubeset. Nothing too exotic about the build with all XT drivetrain, brakes, chainset, shifters, headset hubs etc. Also includes a Strong post, Flite saddle and T Bone stem.

This bike is like my homeboy because it was built right here in Claremont California, my home town, and sold by Buds Bike Shop in the Claremont Village. Back then the Buds (now gone) and Santana were both owned by Bill McCready. Notice the Buds water bottle and matching cap. In addition to the Moda I also have a Santana tandem from 1980

Pure class, understated, lets the frame do the talking 8)

i had just discovered and was researching these earlier this week. nice… i want!

can't tell from the pics, but is the FB frame or TIG one?

Thanks for the nice comments. The bike is indeed the later TIG welded one. The filet brazed model, though beautiful, had a tendency to crack. When new there were lots on the local trail, but now not so many (in fact there is only one that I have seen actually being ridden). I have two friends who worked at Santana and the Moda is the second rarest model only surpassed by a very select few single road bikes that were all made for employees or for special customers here in town.
