Any one know or have experience with this crank set?

Looks like a Sachs Neos chainset from about 1997. Those back slanted teeth are supposed to be like that to aid shifting. Never used one though but it looks good.

I think Neos was a step down from Sachs' top groupset for the year called 'Quarz'.
Whats the serial number?

Thanks! serial number ?? - I haven't got it yet. Its in transit from US. :-)

Sachs groups were never widespread - but they should have been
Agreed..

I have a set of quartz hubs (up for sale btw) and think they are really well made, and certainly should have been more popular considering the quality... :)

The chains were (still are) the best, but I often found the wavey shifters were next to useless in anything over than dry conditions, which was a huge pity.

Cool

I've got a set of those 'Schnellspanners' :D

They are cool, very cool, even cooler now that I'm calling them Schnellspanners

Like your chainset Yetiman, it's super shiny!

I also have a set of Wavey shifters came as standard on my Super V 1000 they are BAD BAD BAD BAD, IMO best make sure to avoid them

They are almost entirely plastic apart from the screws and the ratchet spring

The rest of the group looks damned nice, particularly the hubs

My Cannondale also had Coda hubs which are actually Maillard, they've lasted but they are visibly not as well constructed as Shimano or as good looking as those Sachs branded ones

Did they make a rear mech???

they look nice
had a look with sachs quartz grouppo on it a few years ago

sram bought the sedis side of sachs (chains etc) and may have bought the lot for all i know
