Rumour mill...Fat City :-o

Re:

Even though I'm fully in the fs camp these days, if he makes a modern Yo in aquafade I will HAVE to get one.

Re:

I wonder who will be building these. Can't imagine that a bike built by someone who hasn't lifted a welding torch in twenty years and positively avoided the cycle industry all that time will be any cop.
The industry has moved on, a lot, and if they are just going to replicate the old bikes then why not just buy an old bike which actually has had Chris' hand on it. If they are going to make a modern suspension and disc ready bike then why not buy it from someone who know how to make them through experience built up over the last 20 years.

I get the feeling this will end up as Chris' name attached to someone else's frames or, even worse, on some mass produced Taiwanese plastic bike.

The Fatcogs thread stinks of low rent marketing BS with new members seeding it with fake interest despite being the actual people behind the enterprise. I fear that that low rent marketing will be reflective of the whole thing.

Some things are best left dead, good memories are far nicer.

A Yo Eddy carbon fiber made, with 29" wheels, disc brakes…
What a nightmare

I have to agree

I suspect the welding skills are soon picked back up... a bit like riding a bike, once you can, you never forget how.

I wonder if he'll do what Scott Nichol did when he bought Ibis back from the dead.. work with some designers and get some seriously good modern bikes built. Scot also keep us old ibis fans happy releasing a limited Ti Mojo. OR he might just go top end of market and build small quantities. Daryl Funk has also had an interesting approach, building small numbers of La Ruta / 29ers and slowly building it back up gradually. All three approaches could be successful and I respect them if they make a go of it.

One to watch. I signed up for the newsletter.
