I have recently bought myself a 1stgen. iPad (bloody good condition from the book yard guys) thing is I REALLY need a rugged case and can't find one for this model. I have contemplated a pelican case but they're for transportation and I cannot use this thing in the field.
Any pointers.

Re:

I had a Griffin Survivor for my iPad air which was ok but then I got an otterbox which is on a different level.
Absolute top quality and has a hard cover for the screen.

I,got mine on eBay for about £30. I haven't looked but reckon there will be tons of them on eBay for iPad 1.

Re:

The otterbox feels much more solidly built and fits better. The port covers are solid and robust. It would stand up to a substantial rain shower. The transparent screen cover is better quality.
The main thing is though that it has a solid cover/stand that entirely covers the screen in a solid plastic. I would happily shove my iPad in a rucksack in the otterbox and not worry about where it was going. But with the griffin I would feel like it needed some extra protection.

The otterbox is by far the superior product.

Re:

It has two screen protectors. A transparent one that the screen works with. And a removable one that acts as a stand when removed which you can't oprate the screen with when fitted. Best thing to do is look at the otterbox website.
