Royal Wedding Holiday...

I am feeling a strong urge to take the family somewhere nice at the end of April.

Anyone got a suggestion within reasonable travelling distance with a view to getting away from the imposed festivities?

Presently rural France is the favourite.

Yeah.

Far enough from people who might be going on about it as well.

Not that I harbour any ill feelings towards them.

I was working in a Community Hospice service when Di died and was cycling past the piles of flowers and crowds of tear eyed sheep to my clients.

Can't be doing with all the hype.

Maybe if they made the wedding night into a live reality tv show I would be more interested. If we could all phone in and vote on who gets thrown out of the party and cheer Willy on when he is doing his duty I could see the appeal. Truth is we only get to pay for it, we don't get much more than that.

Best place in the whole wide world.

I will be at sea, and the golden nugget is we get double pay for the bank holiday, so no news coverage and and extra couple of hundered quid in the bank! :D

I'd rather be in London... tall building and a sniper rifle - sorted 8)

Best tell the Daily Express so that they can get busy composing the next 10 years' worth of Monday morning headlines. ;)

The best part about all this wedding crapola is that it will be a blinding opportunity for (relevant, however tenuous the link) small businesses to cash in at a time when I suspect most are struggling somewhat..

Aside from that, I may just spend the appointed day spinning the pedals, in the countryside, looking for a hill in Suffolk (yeah, right  ) on which to sit atop and enjoy some Gatorade and a Mars bar (or something)...

Or load up on meds and sleep for 48hrs 8)

hf - I hear rural France is quite lovely at most times of the year..
