I have here for sale a pair of Specialized Roval Fusee E5 wheels.
There is a story to these. On my Klein I have a very nice set of Bontrager Race-X-Lite wheels. Being the numpty that I am I managed to run over the back wheel a couple of months ago with my wifes X-Trail. As you can probably imagine the wheel didn't fare too well :-(
So, I purchased these wheels thinking that there was no chance of finding a RXL rim. And I was right - not a hope in hell in finding one of those.......but last week up popped an entire rear wheel which I snapped up. The hub was shot but no issues with that as it was only the rim that I needed. So my Klein is back to its former glory and I have no need for another set of wheels as I now have spares for the RXL's.
I have ridden the Fusee's in the intervening period. They are a very stiff and fast accelerating set of wheels. If I am being honest they are a little too stiff for the Klein which has very large tubes in the rear triangle. The wheels are in good nick and run true. The rear wheel had a wobble in it when I got them which I traced to some play between the axle and the bearings. Seems that the original design had a copper piece on the axle which had a tendency to wear out. I have replaced the bearings and the axle (which no longer has the copper sleeve) at a cost of £40 as well as the front bearings as well.
The wheels come with the original Roval rim tapes and QR's.
I am looking for £250 posted for these at which point I am losing on what I have paid overall, but I can swallow that as they have kept me on the road whilst waiting for a RXL to turn up.
