Old School Hero
Hi
Does any one have a frame size chart for the rocky mountain 2006 models?

Or know what the measurements are for a 2006 15 inch, 16.5 inch, and 18 inch ETSX 30
i.e.
Frame size Head Angle Seat Angle Seat Tube Length Toptube Headtube Chainstay BB Drop Wheelbase Standover Height

I ask as im lookingbuying at one but the owner does not know the size, also any one got any ideas what a 2006 ETSX might be worth?? One other thing, can anything be done about the front mech cable rubbing down the back of the seat tube or is it just a design fault.
Cheers Tony

I have a 18in 2007 70, dont have any charts but it measures up as:

cc top tube 22.25
standover 30.5

I am 5.7 and run a short 6.5cm stem with risers.
The front mech cable rub is unchanged over 4-5 years. I run goretex inners past the rub spot to smooth things out. Never found this to be a problem though.

I very much love this bike and have found it to be loads of fun in all situations. All of the pivot points are bearings on mine and show no sign of play. I would assume that there are shock dif between the 30-70-90 series. This would make a big dif in how this bike rides/climbs.

This is not a long travell down hiller. It was made for punishing long distance-out to the back end of fricken Canadian wilderness-and back kind of ridding. Or a bit of fun in Wales.

Mine's a 2004, and think it's a 16.5". Could measure things up later on tonight if still required. Suits me at 5'8". I think they gave the 2006+ bikes another 1/2" of rear travel.

Front mech routing hasn't been a problem for me either. And in two years of owning it I've not had to change the bearings yet.

I use it for a club ride once a week and have used it at Afan a few times. Still keeps up with the modern bikes ok!

Post a piccy here or in the "how much is it worth" thread for a rough valuation from us! :D

Here's a link to RockiMtn's nice one:

Many thanks for the replies guys. I have asked to test ride the bike over this weekend so ill have to measure up and see what size it is. I did ride it back in march before it was up for sale and i did notice it didn’t seem to have much stand over height I m about 5.6. but it seemed to fit ok eveywhere else.I also currently ride a 15.5 inch marin riftzone a 1999 model and there is plenty of stand over on that.

If tiboltrider12 you wouldn’t mind just measuring up your frame that would be great it would giving me an idea of both sizes. Also could of you give me an idea of how much your bikes weigh? and what up grades you have carried out if any.
Many thanks Tony

specs for my 2003 etsx-70. approx weight of my 16.5" build is 27lbs. i'm 5'8" with 30" inseem, and could do with a little more stand-over height.

Many thanks Lid and RockiMtn
The weight of lids bike is fantastic how have you managed that?
and the sizing chart is just what i was after.
i am borrowing the bike from tomorrow so i will have a measure and play over the weekend.

Cheers Tony

lid do you want to sned us the spec details of your bike id love to seee how you have managed to get it to weigh 23.5lb was it?

i believe someone on another forum managed to get an ETSX down to approx 24-25lbs, but that was with a lot of carbon and other light weight parts. i did a quick search but can't seem to find the thread.

That was with the Wu scales. I guess its about 26 or so with the Talas front end, older 4 pot xt discs. I have put big 2.4s on it for really scarry North Shore stuff.
Seems odd that you guys that are taller than me are ridding smaller frames and having standover probs? I am normal in proportions.....though have been told that my mouth is too big......a few times. I am also running a much shorter stem than anyone-everyone else??
