RockShox Judy DHO + Judy SL LT Single Crown Conversion

Hi,
I'm in the process of restoring my '98 Specialized and wanted to build the forks I wanted them but couldn't afford.
I've attached an image of the forks I want to make.
I've managed to hopefully source some Judy DHO's from here.
Am I correct in assuming the fork on the right is a combination of Judy DHO & Judy SL LT crown and Stanchions?
Has anyone done this before way back when?
Any ideas on how I can get the Judy SL internals working their best?
ta

Re:

They were often referred to as Slalom forks, I thought they were first put together by Steve Peats mechanic. Would it not be a set of DH uppers, crowns and gubbins and DHO lowers. Im assuming that they would need the double damper cart of the DHs rather than the single of the SLs.

Decals - Gil_m is your man.

Re:

I tried this with a 95 Judy DH and a DHO and it didnt work, the stanchions were different diameters....

Dave Garland (Who is / was Stendec) was the mechanic who butchered them for Steve Peat before RS made an official version... he's still out there and I'm sure would help...

I thought all Judy forks had the same diameter stanchions?

Re:

Could it be you need to use the bushes and seals from the DH/SL in the DHO rather than using the DHO bushes and seals?

Thanks for the help on this. I still have the image of these forks in my head from when I was at school in '98. It probably was on Peaty's slalom bike. I remember that was the new thing at the time.
So I imagine I want a 1998 DHO & DH for the best chance of this working. I missed some DHO's on the bay at the weekend. That's how I started on this slippery slope.
So the search continues whilst I try to piece together exactly what I'm after.

Looking at the pics, the dho stantions are fatter than those of the dh and sl.ive played with and built many a judy, but not a dho. All judys I've worked on have all had the same stantion diameter, including the dh and sl, so I would say it is not going to Beas easy as you'd think if the dho does indeed have a different diameter stantion. I could be wrong as I've not had any dhos, but all other judys do have the same pretty much everything and can be swapped, aside from the 97 onwards internals, as these have a larger damper thread/bolt so you can't use 96 internals in 97 forks and vice versa, except for the 96 dhif memory serves, as I think these had the larger damper threaded section that I guess must have become the standard from 97 onwards.

Not sure if this helps?

Re:

I just built one of these single crown DHO's recently, stanchion size is the same, bottom bolt that attaches to dampening rod is larger on DHO, So I removed the internals from the DHO and put them inside the stanchions of the DH(c clip holds it in.) Messed around with different springs/elastomers till the top cap went on nicely. Just a Quick reply, If you want any more info let me know
