Purchased here in the last week for a project and for various reasons i'm going form something else ><

In excellent condition a few marks but otherwise very tidy
allen bolt crown, brace with canti hanger in VGC et etc.


Long threaded steerer - 185mm long
1-1/8th headset size.

(there was an issue with the threads being slightly tight this has been sorted though alloy headset 's may be tight)

hello... of the steerer length how much of it is threaded? I'm thinking of these for a canti-braked Fisher with a very short headtube, so am considering lopping off the threads and using an aheadset & stem :? Not sure if this is wise but pretty sure I'll be able to bash a star nut in there once cut - cheers, Al

DeadRats, if this is a threaded steerer originally, I think it may well be externally machined away on the section below the thread (to reduce weight) so you cannot use anything below the bottom of the threads.

I cannot tell form the picture though but it hints at it.
A 170mm steerer (uncut) is threaded from 120mm
So best guess is a 200mm steerer (uncut, which 185 lies in ) is threaded from 150mm
So there will be 35mm of threads

About 1/2 the steerer is threaded so it wont be much used i'm afraid.
(80 mm odd)

Oh pooh. Would have got them maybe if I could have swapped.
