Rock Shok Judy DH Question

Hi guys , after my recent ride out on the ibis today, the judy DHs I have did not achieve full travel and are really hard, now I know they have speed springs in them which I understand from the previous owner were firm, but would this restrict the travel ?

Any tips or suggestions for set up on speedsprings.. ?

Do you have any extra springs? I'm 185 and run a medium spring and a firm spring in mine and it works great. are your cartridges working?

I have no extra spare springs for these forks, how would I know if the cartridges are working ?

Have you taken it apart? if not i would. Make sure that the cartridges are not seized, and they can fully compress, and are not pissing oil. If not you can get cartridges from some of the guys on this site or ebay. if all that checks out however, i'd invest in some lighter weight springs cause there is no way to adjust them. Is there much sag on the forks when you sit on it? if not this is a good indicator that you need lighter weight springs. you want to almost sag through 2 cm on that fork.

The red alloy knobs at the top of each leg are preload adjusters, check that these are wound all the way out.
