I just use normal old white lithium grease and always have done. I don't think it's hygroscopic?

quote.......snip

''.....The cause, water mixing with the complex. The most popular complex (lithium) tends to do this more than some others. Lithium complex is a soap base and will emulsify with water or retain water in the complex thus the milky color....'''

This feels like the start of an oil thread on Scoobynet (Subaru impreza forum) which went on for about 30 pages :)

I use lithium disulphide white grease, which reminds me I'm almost out and should get some more.......

Re:

I was using some grease on some cotter pins (on the front suspension of my Isetta) and I worked out that the tub of grease is 32 years old

Should I repackage it and sell it in small tubes as retro grease?

I bought a tub of marine grease recently, not used it yet

The rock n roll grease is expensive but it is all I use now in the shop why because it is so persistant but yes other greases will do.
