Going to 18bikes in the morning so they will check it. If the frame is bent then the insurance company will pay for that as well.

Tempting fate king

Wouldn't the frames warranty be affected by being hit ? I take no notice of warranties but might be a consideration .

Good point! Just got back from 18bikes, fork and wheel definately need replacing, possibly the disc rotor and also recommended the handlebars are changed. More of a concern is the fact that they advise replacing the frame and I have just got off the phone with Cy at Cotic and he has confirmed that the warranty is definately void now it has been involved in a collision. Now given that the warranty lasts 2 years and is for a new frame if any defects are found then I think I should replace the frame as well, even if it does look fine. Just waiting to hear back from the insurers now, what a headache!

Just got the green light from the insurers, replacement frame and handlebars also agreed, basically I am getting a new bike now but the next batch of frames ain't due until the end of April so I am going to use my current frame until then if it is undamaged and is simply a matter of the warranty being void.

Asked 18bikes to spec the new bits as follows

Fox F120RLC 15QR forks,
Hope Pro 2 hubs with DT Swiss rims front and rear,
Handlebar and floating rotor will be the same as they currently are (EA70 and Hope Floating Rotor).
Replacement Cotic Soul frame in Orange.

Almost worth getting knocked down for!

Trevor.
