Without a doubt this site has given me a hobby of worth, an inspiration to exercise (i'm 46 on Sunday!) and a whole barrel of laugh's.
Due to flab, financial and family commitments i've not actually managed a ride-out with a 'clan' yet but that'll change this year.
Anyone who has seen my Muddy Fox Courier post on "riders wives" (aka <'97 bikes) will know that The Karma Gods of Araya...
(a little known 80's synth-pop-duo from the land of the rising sun)
have been rather kind to me of late
(OH THANK YOU MASTER FOX
)
and i'm going to return some of it...SO Archemists 2nd Karma offer is
<drum role on>A 96 KONA KOA race light frame in the buff (as it were) <drum off>
(fruit not included)
because with the Elite to finish and the Fox to polish i am NEVER ever gonna get this frame done...
size 19, with c. 22" top tube and easton double butted 7005 and a flyweight 4lb (without paint).
This has the same geometry as the steelies (booh, hiss) of the period and is a flier. You may of course fit sussy forks in its 1 1/8 head tube and put a little spring in her front end as well (the Muni Mula is the same frame but with R/shox)
Catalogue specs and original colour, etc here
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/d/7 ... 85b2861961
The only catch is you pay the postage, unless of course you want to come to lincolnshire, stare at the Fox in his pristine glory and collect for FREE (the koa not the fox).
I'll give this two weeks or the 1st 25 NOW 40 names.
Come on in - this isn't a bad 'un and it'd be the coolest pub bike in town (as is)...
A KONA frame for NOWT...(this cost me £50 BTW)
The only thing i ask in return is that if you win and ever sell it on you make a donation to the meningitus trust for the profit you've gained.
cheers all, And
