If a site is aimed at a certain time period the majority of people contributing will be from that period or remember it. The story of MTB evolves and i think the site needs to also.
I think that giving bikes a age frame instead of a certain time frame would help. For example, any bike over 20yrs old should be classed as retro, of course you will still have the pioneering bikes from a certain period, but every year new bikes would fall into the retro/vintage class, like guitars for example.
It would help to keep interest in bikes alive for years to come, for future generations. It could become a recognised marker for the bike industry.
Of course we could just not, and let the bikes and their history die with us...
Also i think the idea of rides is a good idea, but for myself, and i have seen a few others on here, im not getting any younger and am recovering, i think i am, from injuries. A lot of the rides are long hard rides and i should imagine that puts a few off, maybe some fun rides thrown in would help? there are also a lot on here who still enjoy racing/competing, maybe an official RB race team, that could create publicity, especially when you start to win all the races
Just babling, sorry, as you were
